On January 16th, 2010, the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Florida hosted its first 5K Run. It was named the Alberdia Floyd – Thelma Starks MLK Day 5K Run in honor of the Department of Florida’s first African American President (Alberdia Floyd) and the Department’s Honorable Past Department President (Thelma Starks). It was a great run that helped bring about monetary and emotional support to our nation’s veterans facing poverty. Thank you to our runners, volunteers, and supporters.
